Southwest of Jackson near Afton in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, the Salt River Trail is a 10 mile route open to horseback riding.

Overall, Salt River Trail is the 30th most popular horse trail of all 33 horseback rides in Wyoming. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Salt River Trail including Cache Creek/Game Creek Loop, Deadman Peak Trail, State Line Driveway Trail, Cottonwood Creek Trail, Dog Creek Trail and Divide Trail.
