Southwest of Jacksonville and Orange Park, the Evans Loop Trail is a 16 mile horseback riding route in the 24,000 acre Jennings State Forest. There is a 16 mile Yellow loop and a shorter 8 mile Red loop.

To reach the horseback riding trailhead, follow SR21 (Blanding Blvd) to CR220A (Old Jennings Road). Head west on CR220A for 4 miles. Turn north on Live Oak Lane for 0.5 miles to the trailhead.

Note: Do not ride in or ford Yellow Water Creek or North Fork Black Creek in order to preserve water quality.

Overall, Evans Loop Trail is the 19th most popular horse trail of all 34 horseback rides in Florida. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Evans Loop Trail including West Tower Trails, Red Root Trail and Holloway Loop.
