Seminole State Forest Horseback Riding

North of Orlando near Cassia, the 25,800 acre Seminole State Forest has two trails open to horseback riding. These trails are the Sulphur Island Horse Trail (7.4 miles) and the River Creek Loop (7 miles).

To reach the Sulphur Island Horse Trail from SR-44/CR-44A intersection in Cassia, go E on SR-44 for 1.7 miles to Brantley Branch Rd., go E .10 mile on Brantley Branch Rd., trailhead is on S side.

To reach the River Creek Loop from I-4 take Exit #101C, go W on SR-46 for 5 miles. Forest Entrance is on R.

Overall, Seminole State Forest is the 23rd most popular horse trail of all 34 horseback rides in Florida. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Seminole State Forest including Little Big Econ State Forest, Lower Wekiva Horse Trail, Kissimmee Praire State Preserve and Highlands Hammock State Park.
