Southwest of Pueblo, the Cisneros Trail is a 10 mile route open to horseback riding.

To reach the Lake Isabel Trailhead from the intersection of I-25 and SR 165 in Colorado City, go west on SR 165 for about 18 miles to Lake Isabel. The trailhead is located at Lake Isabel at the end of Forest Service Road # 376 at the end of the campgrounds.

Overall, Cisneros Trail is the 24th most popular horse trail of all 66 horseback rides in Colorado. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Cisneros Trail including Wahatoya Trail and Indian Creek Trail.
