North of Troy in the Uwharrie National Forest, the Canebrake Horse Camp provides access to a 32 mile Equestrian Trail System via the Home Trail.

The Canebrake Horse Camp is located in the Badin Lake Area about 16 miles north of Troy, NC on FR 544. From Troy, travel on NC 109N for 10 miles and turn left onto Mullinix Road (NC 1154). Follow Mullinix Road for about 2 miles to a T intersection. Turn right at T and travel about one-quarter mile to the campground on the right.

Overall, Canebrake Horse Camp is the 3rd most popular horse trail of all 18 horseback rides in North Carolina.
