Manzana Trail Horseback Riding

Southeast of Santa Maria and northeast of Santa Ynez in the Los Padres National Forest, the Manzana Trail is a 45 mile horseback riding trail. A great location to explore the route is the NFS Nira Campground.

To reach the campground from Santa Ynez at SR154, head east on Armour Ranch Road. Continue northeast on FS 7N07 (aka Happy Canyon Road or Figueroa Mountain Road for around 20 miles. Turn right on Cachuma Road to the end at the campground.

Overall, Manzana Trail is the 33rd most popular horse trail of all 81 horseback rides in California. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Manzana Trail including Buckhorn OHV Route, Romero Canyon Horse Trail, Camuesa OHV Route and Sage Hill.
