Southwest of Frazier Park in the Los Padres National Forest, the Reyes Creek Trail is a 25 mile route.

To reach the horseback riding trailhead from Taft, head eight miles south on Highway 33. Continue south for 13 miles after Highway 33 joins Highway 166. Turn south to stay on Highway 33 and travel about 20 miles, turn left (east) onto Lockwood Valley Road and travel five miles. Then turn south onto Forest Road 7N11 and onto Reyes Creek Campground and the trailhead.

Overall, Reyes Creek Trail is the 41st most popular horse trail of all 81 horseback rides in California. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Reyes Creek Trail including Thorn Point Trail, Fish Bowl and Ortega Horse Trail.
