Northwest of Truckee in the Tahoe National Forest, the Mt Lola Trail is a 9.5 mile one-way horseback riding route. The elevation ranges from 6600 to 9100 feet.

To reach the horseback riding trailhead from Truckee, head north on SR89 to Henness Pass Road. Turn left heading west of Henness Pass Road for 4.5 miles to the trailhead.

The trail heads south to Mount Lola, and continues beyond to connect with a variety of other routes.

Overall, Mount Lola Trail is the 54th most popular horse trail of all 81 horseback rides in California. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Mount Lola Trail including Bullards Bar Loop Horse Trail, South Yuba River Trail, Pioneer Trail and Grouse Ridge Trail.
