North of Weaverville in the Shasta Trinity National Forest, the Sapphire Trail is a 15 mile route.

To reach the horseback riding trailhead from Weaverville, head north on SR3 for 13 miles until you cross Stuart Fork Arm of Claire Engel Lake Bridge, turn left through Trinity Alps Resort to Bridge Creek Campground in 3.5 miles.

Overall, Sapphire Trail is the 59th most popular horse trail of all 81 horseback rides in California.
