South of Vail, the Two Elk Trail is an 11 mile route open to horseback riding.

To reach the eastern trailhead at US70, use Exit 180 and head south on Big Horn Road for about 4 miles. The horseback riding trailhead is on the right.

To reach the western trailhead, head west from Vail on US70 to US24. Head south on US24 through Minturn for 4 miles total to trailhead on the left.

Overall, Two Elk Trail is the 43rd most popular horse trail of all 66 horseback rides in Colorado.
