Timber Mesa Trail Horseback Riding

Southeast of Show Low in the White Mountains, the Timber Mesa Trail (#636) is a 6 mile horseback riding route that follows the top edge of the mesa and loops back along the Chimneys Fire Road. The trail on the top of the mesa is rocky.

To reach the horseback riding trailhead from the Lakeside Ranger Station, head south on SR260. Turn left on Porter Mountain Road (FS45) for 2.2 miles. Take a left at the cattle guard and continue to the trailhead on the right.

Overall, Timber Mesa Trail is the 34th most popular horse trail of all 49 horseback rides in Arizona.
