Balsam Mountain Trail Horseback Riding

The 11th most popular equestrian trail in Tennessee.

In the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Balsam Mountain Trail is a 10 mile route open to horseback riding.

To reach the trailhead from the Oconaluftee Visitor Center head a little south to a left (east) on Big Cove Rd.(Straight Fork Rd.) Travel about 14 miles and look to the left for Roundbottom Horse Camp. Camp and head to the trail from here.

Overall, Balsam Mountain Trail is the 11th most popular horse trail of all 21 horseback rides in Tennessee.
