This trail provides access to three trails that descend the escarpment: Bald Hill, J.E.T., and Packhorse. A circular route can be travelled beginning at any one of these trailheads, thus creating several unique trail loops.

The trailhead is located about 25 km south of Dauphin on PTH #10.

Overall, North Escarpment Trail is the 2nd most popular horse trail of all 4 horseback rides in Manitoba. Several of the better horse trails are nearby North Escarpment Trail including Central Escarpment Trail, Clear Lake Trail and South Escarpment Trail.
