East of Albuquerque and south of Tijeras, the Cedro Peak area has more than 30 miles of cross-crossing horseback riding trails. These rocky, winding trails can be challenging and difficult to navigate. Make sure to pick up the latest available trail map directly from the local Ranger Station.
To reach the horseback riding trailhead from Albuquerque, head east on US40 to the Tijeras exit. Proceed south on SR337 for 3.5 miles to trailhead parking area near the NFS Cedro Campground.
Overall, Cedro Peak Trail System is the 17th most popular horse trail of all 22 horseback rides in New Mexico.
