The 18th most popular equestrian trail in New Mexico.

East of Albuquerque and south of Tijeras, a cool rolling 8 mile horseback riding loop combines the Otero Canyon Trail going up with the Blue Ribbon Trail (#236) coming back down. Watch for numerous side trails to explore.

To reach the horseback riding trailhead from Albuquerque, head east on US40 to the Tijeras exit. Proceed south on SR337 for 3.5 miles to trailhead parking area near the NFS Cedro Campground.

Overall, Otero Canyon Trail / Blue Ribbon Trail is the 18th most popular horse trail of all 22 horseback rides in New Mexico.
