East of Lovell and west of Burgess Junction in the Bighorn National Forest, the Little Horn Trail (#050) is a 9 mile route.

To reach the horseback riding trailhead from Lovell, head east on US14A. Just past Bald Mountain Campground, turn left heading north on Sheep Mountain Road (FS11) for 2 miles to the trailhead.

The trail heads northeasterly for 9 miles to the border of the ranger district. The route traverses Wagon Box Creek, Duncum Creek and the Little Bighorn River.

Overall, Little Horn Trail is the 5th most popular horse trail of all 33 horseback rides in Wyoming. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Little Horn Trail including Cloud Peak Wilderness, Bucking Mule Falls Trail, Lodge Grass Creek and Big Goose.
