Smith Rapids Saddle Trail Horseback Riding

The 20th most popular equestrian trail in Wisconsin.

East of Park Falls, the Smith Rapids Saddle Trail is a 18.5 mile horseback riding route. The well-marked trail traverses flat to gently rolling terrain. There are open vistas with tremendous views of the South Fork of the Flambeau River.

To reach the Smith Rapids Trailhead from Fifield, starting from the intersection of SR13 and SR70, head east on SR70 for 12.5 miles to FS148. Turn left heading north on FS148 for 1.8 miles to the campground. Turn left heading west and proceed to the trailhead parking area.

Note: Summer months are well-known for their flies and mosquitos.

Overall, Smith Rapids Saddle Trail is the 20th most popular horse trail of all 24 horseback rides in Wisconsin.
