South of Orlando near Sebring, the 9,250 acre Highlands Hammock State Park has 11 miles of trails open to horseback riding including an 8 mile hardpack-shell loop road.

The Highlands Hammock State Park is located on SR634 (Hammock Road) just west of US27 near Sebring. Watch for bald eagles and panthers.

Overall, Highlands Hammock State Park is the 33rd most popular horse trail of all 34 horseback rides in Florida. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Highlands Hammock State Park including Little Big Econ State Forest, Seminole State Forest, Lower Wekiva Horse Trail and Kissimmee Praire State Preserve.
