The trail stretches from the North Rim Entrance Station in the south to Winter Road east of Fredonia and is one of the most scenic sections of the Arizona Trail. There is a splendid panorama of House Rock Valley, the Vermilion Cliffs, and Marble Canyon along with overlooks of North Canyon and Saddle Mountain Wilderness are found at East Rim View. The horseback riding route parallels SR67 (Grand Canyon Highway) from the north entrance to the intersection with SR89A about 2.5 miles northeast of Jacob Lake (a good trailhead).
