Southeast of Salt Lake City and northeast of American Fork, the American Fork Canyon has multi-use trails open to horseback riding. Note, this area is popular with OHV users.

To reach the Tibble Fork Parking Area from the intersection of I-80 and I-15 in Salt Lake City, go south on I-15 for 24 miles. Exit and go east on SR 92 for 12.6 miles. Go left on SR 44 and travel about 2.5 miles. Look for OHV parking near the Tibble Fork Reservoir.

Overall, American Fork Canyon is the 19th most popular horse trail of all 25 horseback rides in Utah. Several of the better horse trails are nearby American Fork Canyon including Bennie Creek Trail and Fifth Water Trail.
