Brazos Bend State Park Horseback Riding

Southwest of Houston and south of Richmond, the 4,900 acre Brazos Bend State Park is one of Texas most beautiful parks. Situated along the Brazos River, there are 25 miles of trails open to horseback riding through bottomland-hardwood forest and past lakes. There are gravel and paved trails. All of the horse trails are marked with brown signs. Keep an eye out for gators in the lakes!
To reach the Brazos Bend State Park trailhead from Rosharon, head west on SR1462 for 10 miles. Turn right heading north on SR762 for 1 mile to the park entrance.
To reach the Brazos Bend State Park trailhead from Houston, take Highway 59 South to the Crabb River Road exit. You may also take State Highway 288 south to FM 1462 West. Follow FM 1462 to FM 762 North. From the south follow State Highway 288 North to the FM 1462 exit or take State Highway 36 to FM 1462 East.
Overall, Brazos Bend State Park is the 19th most popular horse trail of all 22 horseback rides in Texas. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Brazos Bend State Park including Sam Houston National Forest, Big Sandy Creek Horse Trail, Lake Somerville State Park and Lake Houston State Park.
