South of Sheridan in the Bighorn National Forest, the Big Goose area has numerous routes open to mountain biking and horseback riding.
To reach the horseback riding trailhead from Sheridan, head south on US14/SR87. Continue on Hwy 87 to SR 335. Go south on SR 335 until it turns into CR 26/Red Grade Rd. Follow this to the trailheads.
Overall, Big Goose is the 32nd most popular horse trail of all 33 horseback rides in Wyoming. Several of the better horse trails are nearby Big Goose including Lodge Grass Creek, Cloud Peak Wilderness, Bucking Mule Falls Trail and Little Horn Trail.
