North of Clemson, the Issaqueena Lake Trail (8 mi. one-way) is a flat horseback riding trail through the 17,500 acre Clemson University Experimental Forest. The Issaqueena Lake Trail is primarily used by mountain bikers, but it is also open to hiking and horseback riding. The route meanders around the lake providing beautiful views.

To reach the trailhead from Clemson, follow SR133 north for 3.6 miles and then head northwest on Old Six Mile Highway. Shortly, turn right onto Issaqueena Main Road and park at the Indian Springs Recreation Area on the left.

Overall, Issaqueena Lake Trail is the 9th most popular horse trail of all 11 horseback rides in South Carolina.
