South of Crescent City and Klamath near Orick, the Orick Horse Trail consists of 4 loops open to horseback riding. The loops include: Ridge Loop (7 miles), McArthur Creek Loop (14 miles), Elam Creek Loop (20 miles), Forty Four Creek Loop (32 miles). This trail system overs vistas of the Orick Valley and of the ocean from the ridgeline routes.

The trailhead is located north of Orick just past the Kuchel Visitor Center on the east side of US101. The road leading to the trailhead is unsigned.

Overall, Orick Horse Trail is the 75th most popular horse trail of all 81 horseback rides in California.
