Tuxbury Horse Trail

The 11th most popular equestrian trail in South Carolina.

North of Charleston near Moncks Corner in the Francis Marion National Forest, the Tuxbury Horse Trail is a 14 mile loop open to horseback riding. The route follows old railroad logging routes through bottomland hardwoods stands and longleaf pine stands.

To reach the trailhead from Charleston, head northeast on US17 for 10 miles. Turn left heading north on SR41 for 7 miles. The Tuxbury Horse Trail parking area is on the left.

Note: This are is known for bad bugs during the summer. Also, the route is shared by mountain bikers and horses.

Overall, Tuxbury Horse Trail is the 11th most popular horse trail of all 11 horseback rides in South Carolina.
