Southwest of Ellicotville near Onoville in Cattaraugus County, the Pine Hills State Forest has 24 miles of forested equestrian trails. These wide trails are mainly on old logging roads and are marked with DEC markers.

To reach the horseback riding trails at Pine Hills State Forest from US86, use Exit 16. Turn on Main Street heading to Randoulph. At the first right, turn right on Larkin Street. At the end, turn right on Archer Hill Road. At the end turn left on Pine Hill Road. At the first left, Turn left on Carr Corners Road. The parking area is at the top of the hill.

Overall, Pine Hills State Forest is the 21st most popular horse trail of all 22 horseback rides in New York.
