Chappie-Shasta OHV Area

The 96th most popular off-highway vehicle trail in California.

Northeast of Redding and west of Shasta Dam, the Chappie Shasta ORV Area has 250 miles of OHV trails through riparian and chaparral terrain with pine at higher elevations.

To reach the Chappie-Shasta ORV Area trailhead from Redding, follow US5 to the Shasta Dam exit (about 10 miles). Head west on Shasta Dam Blvd to Shasta Dam. Continue west across the dam to the OHV parking area (note, a permit may be required to cross Shasta Dam).

Overall, Chappie-Shasta OHV Area is the 96th most popular OHV & 4wd jeep trail of all 102 OHV routes in California.
