Northwest of Dillon in the White River National Forest, the Spring Creek Road OHV Area is a easy to moderate route through spruce and fir forest.
To reach the trailhead form US70, use Exit 205 for Silverthorne/Dillon. Head north on SR9 for 27.02 miles. Turn left on Spring Creek Road (CR10) for 6.8 miles. Veer left at FS1830 (Doenz Place). Road becomes FS23. Continue to the fork in the road. From here, the right fork is FS23/1831 and the left fork is FS1832.
The OHV routes follow FS1831 past Sheep Mountain along Elliot Ridge to the Elliot Ridge Trailhead, and then down to Mahan Lake. Or, follow FS1832 thru the South Fork Deep Creek drainage and the Martin Creek Drainage.
Note: Colorado residents must register their off-highway vehicle with the Colorado State Parks (303) 866-3437. Non-residents are not required to register in Colorado, if they are registered in their home states. All off-highway vehicles must have an approved muffler and spark arrester. These requirements are subject to change so make sure to contact the Colorado State Parks prior to using your off-highway vehicle.
