South of Terre Haute near Dugger in Sullivan County, the 1,400 acre Redbird State Riding Area is the only State lands open to OHV routes. It is an old strip mine with clay hills.

To reach the trailhead from Linton, head west on SR54 towards Dugger, IN, You will pass a closed Ford dealership on the right (intersection of Highway 54 and highway 59)

-2.5 miles past the Ford Dealer (still going West) on Highway 54 turn right (North) onto 1500 West.

-Traveling North on 1500 West, take your first gravel road to the left (West) or 350 North.

-The Main Entrance is about 1 mile West on 350 North.

Overall, Redbird State Riding Area is the 2nd most popular OHV & 4wd jeep trail of all 4 OHV routes in Indiana.
