South of Riverdale in McLean County at Garrison Dam, the Rough Rider Off Road Vehicle Area is a 100 acre open OHV riding area. It is on a hilly bluff overlooking the Missouri River near Garrison Dam.

To reach the OHV parking for the Rough Rider OHV Area from Bismark, take U.S. Highway 83 north to Junction Highway 200 and then 10 miles west to Riverdale.

Overall, Rough Rider Area is the 1st most popular OHV & 4wd jeep trail of all 2 OHV routes in North Dakota.
