Near Amarillo, the Canadian River area has 20,000 acres of OHV routes with sand drags and muddy river bottoms.

To reach the trailhead from Amarillo, head north on SR287 for about 16 miles. At the Canadian River Bridge turn right. The ORV area starts at the bridge and heads East and West.

Overall, Canadian River is the 14th most popular OHV & 4wd jeep trail of all 15 OHV routes in Texas. Several of the better ohv/4wd trails are nearby Canadian River including Lake McClellan OHV Trails, Rosita ORV Area and Blue Creek Bridge OHV Area.
