Northeast of Flagstaff in the Coconino National Forest, the 13,500 acre Cinder Hills OHV Area has routes open to OHV users. Get ready for big hill climbs. The routes traverse an extensive area of deep volcanic cinders in a ponderosa pine forest.

To reach the Cinder Hills OHV Area trailhead from Flagstaff, head north on US89. Approximately 3/4 mile past milepost 426, turn east on Forest Service Road 776 and follow the signs.

Note: Only licensed vehicles are permitted on FS776 and FS777.

Overall, Cinder Hills OHV Area is the 1st most popular OHV & 4wd jeep trail of all 25 OHV routes in Arizona.
