Usal Road For OHV Driving

West of Garberville in the King Range, the 32 mile Usal Road is a challenging OHV route along high ridges and through redwood forest. A popular destination along the route is the Usal Campground about 6 miles from the southern end. There is a side road that leads down to a scenic beach.

The southern trailhead for the Usal Road is southwest of Leggett on US1. The northern trailhead is east of the town of Shelter Cove.

Overall, Usal Road is the 75th most popular OHV & 4wd jeep trail of all 102 OHV routes in California. Several of the better ohv/4wd trails are nearby Usal Road including Hayfork Trail and Samoa Dunes Recreation OHV Area.
