St Elmo / Tincup / Pitkin Loop For OHV Driving

West of Buena Vista, the St Elmo / Tincup / Pitkin Loop is a full-day loop OHV drive through amazingly scenic country on forest roads. The route crosses the Continental Divide twice offering amazing vistas.
To reach St Elmo from Buena Vista, head south on US285 to CR162. Turn west on CR162 and follow to St Elmo.
Start riding west on CR267 to Tincup over the Continental Divide. In Tincup, head south on CR765 toward Pitkin. Turn east on CR839 over Hancock Pass back towards St Elmo.
Note: Colorado residents must register their off-highway vehicle with the Colorado State Parks (303) 866-3437. Non-residents are not required to register in Colorado, if they are registered in their home states. All off-highway vehicles must have an approved muffler and spark arrester. These requirements are subject to change so make sure to contact the Colorado State Parks prior to using your off-highway vehicle.
