Ballard Hill Road For OHV Driving

The 34th most popular off-highway vehicle trail in Colorado.

Near LaPorte in the Canyon Lake Ranger District, the Ballard Hill Road starts off easy route, then becomes more rocky.

To reach the OHV trailhead from Ft Collins, CO take Hwy 14 west through Laporte. Look for signs for Rist Canyon Rd/52E. Take this west to Stove Prairie Road. Take Stove Prairie Road south a little over 4 miles and look for 44H Road heading west. 44H Road will take you to Moody Hill/Crystal Mountain (FR 513 & FR 132) as well as Ballard Road (FR 129).

Note: Colorado residents must register their off-highway vehicle with the Colorado State Parks (303) 866-3437. Non-residents are not required to register in Colorado, if they are registered in their home states. All off-highway vehicles must have an approved muffler and spark arrester. These requirements are subject to change so make sure to contact the Colorado State Parks prior to using your off-highway vehicle.

Overall, Ballard Hill Road is the 34th most popular OHV & 4wd jeep trail of all 61 OHV routes in Colorado.
