Smoky Mountain Road For OHV Driving

Near Escalante, the 90 mile Smoky Mountain Road climbs through one of the most remote areas in the country. There are 1,400 foot switchbacks. The Kelley Grade at the southern end is a particularly scenic OHV route.

Overall, Smoky Mountain Road is the 25th most popular OHV & 4wd jeep trail of all 32 OHV routes in Utah. Several of the better ohv/4wd trails are nearby Smoky Mountain Road including Pine Lake OHV Trail and Hole-In-The-Rock Road.
