Northeast of Melbourne and south of Mrytleford, the Buffalo River State Forest has tracks open to four wheel driving.

To access the Buffalo River State Forest 4WD tracks, head south from Mrytleford on Buffalo River Road for 35km to Dandongadale. Turn south Abbeyards Road into the Buffalo River State Forest.

Overall, Buffalo River State Forest is the 6th most popular OHV & 4wd jeep trail of all 31 OHV routes in Australia.
