Just south of Port Angeles, Hurricane Ridge is the center of winter activities in Olympic National Park. Around the Hurricane Ridge Nordic Center at over 5,000 feet, there is an ungroomed five mile loop for cross country skiing. The rental center is open weekends from January through March.

Other potential cross country ski ski opportunities in the park include the Hamma Hamma area to Jefferson Ridge north of Hoodsport, and the Matheny Ridge area on closed FS roads north of Lake Quinalt.

Overall, Hurricane Ridge Nordic Center is the 5th most popular cross country ski area of all 15 Nordic ski destinations in Washington.
