Southeast of Albany near Roxbury, the Ski Plattekill ski area has 13 miles of trails open to cross-country skiers. The trails wind themselves down the mountain to the base or you can download in the chairlift. They are completely natural and not groomed.

DIRECTIONS From NYC and points South:

New York State Thruway (Interstate 87) North to exit 19, Kingston. Rt. 28 West towards Pine Hill approximately 40 minutes to the Town of Arkville. Turn Right at Ski Plattekill billboard just before the railroad crossing. Follow to the end. Turn Right onto Rt. 30 North. Go approximately 7 miles and look for sign to turn left onto Cold Spring Road, follow signs to ski center - 3 miles off Rt. 30.

Overall, Ski Plattekill Ski Resort is the 19th most popular cross country ski area of all 61 Nordic ski destinations in New York. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Ski Plattekill Ski Resort including Pineridge Cross-Country Ski Area, Saratoga Spa State Park, Escarpment Trail, Tree Haven Ski Trails and Oak Hill Farms X-Country Ski Center.
