Ahnapee State Trail Cross Country Skiing

North of Green Bay, the gentle 30 mile Ahnapee State Trail runs from Casco to Algoma to Sturgeon Bay along an old railgrade. This ungroomed trail passes pass through the Ahnapee Wildlife Refuge and Forestville Millpond. Bedrock outcrops of the Niagara Escarpment can be found throughout the state park. The trails is part of the 1,000-mile Ice Age Trail.

To reach the cross-country skiing trailhead from Green Bay, head north on SR43 and then north on SR57 to Sturgeon Bay. About a half mile past County Highway S, turn south on Shiloh Road for 1.5 miles to parking lot.

Overall, Ahnapee State Trail is the 6th most popular cross country ski area of all 37 Nordic ski destinations in Wisconsin.
