In the Catskill Forest Preserve, the 19 mile Catskill Scenic Trail runs from Bloomville to Grand Gorge and is good for cross country skiing.

To reach the Bloomville Trailhead for cross country skiing on the Catskill Scenic Trail from the intersection of SR 10 and CR 33 in Bloomville, go east on SR 10 for .1 mile. Take a left on Feed Store Rd. Park in parking lot.

Overall, Catskill Scenic Trail is the 11th most popular cross country ski area of all 61 Nordic ski destinations in New York. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Catskill Scenic Trail including Vernooy Kill Falls Trail, Frost Valley YMCA, Mountain Trails Cross Country Ski Center, Bear Springs Mountain Trail System and Belleayre Mountain Ski Area.
