Bait Hole Cross Country Skiing

The 10th most popular XC Ski in Maine.

Near Millinocket, skiers can enjoy 23 miles of trails and loops with access to the Northern Timber Cruisers Clubhouse (NTC), where a multitude of intermediate trails begin. The Katahdin Region boasts 45 miles of groomed trails that are accessible to cross-country skiers at no cost. Some trails are wooded and protected on windy days while others are open and scenic. Skiers can choose from three prime cross-country skiing locations, each location featuring unique splendor with unparalleled solitude. and scenery.

To reach the trailhead, proceed on Route 11 through Millinocket and travel 2 miles past the entrance to the Great Northern Paper Company. There will be a parking lot on the left. If you cross the green bridge, you have gone to far.

Overall, Bait Hole is the 10th most popular cross country ski area of all 13 Nordic ski destinations in Maine.
