North of Grand Marais on East Bearskin Lake, the Bearskin Lodge maintains 63km of groomed trails. Experience the quiet solitude, gliding over a carpet of white. Tree boughs droop under the weight of freshly fallen snow. Moose, usually shy creatures, are frequently seen foraging for food.

To reach the cross-country skiing trailhead from Duluth, follow SR61 north towards Grand Marais. Turn west on the Gunflint Trail (CR12) for 26 miles.

Overall, Bearskin Lodge is the 5th most popular cross country ski area of all 39 Nordic ski destinations in Minnesota. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Bearskin Lodge including Cascade Lodge, Lutsen Mountains, Gunflint Trail System, Golden Eagle Lodge, Pincushion Mountain B and B and Cascade River State Park.
