Grand Mesa Cross Country Ski Trails

The 6th most popular cross country ski area in Colorado.

East of Grand Junction and south of Mesa, the Grand Mesa Cross Country Ski Trail System has 45km of groomed trails maintained by the Grand Mesa Nordic Council.

The Skyway X-C Ski Trails are 17km of groomed trais for skate and classic skiing. The County Line X-C Ski Trails are 17km partially groomed for skiing, snowshoes and dogs. The Ward Lake X-C Trails are 16km of moderately groomed and backcountry trails. The trail elevations range from 9,750 feet to 10,850. There is a long season often extends well into May.

To reach the trail head from Grand Junction, head east on US70 to Exit 49. Follow SR65 south through Mesa and watch for trailhead on left at Visitor Center.

Overall, Grand Mesa Cross Country Ski Trails is the 6th most popular cross country ski area of all 58 Nordic ski destinations in Colorado.
