Near Midway in the Herber Valley, the Soldier Hollow nordic center is a 26km course built for the 2002 Winter Olympics. Soldier Hollow is located in Wasatch State Park, near Heber City, which is about 43 miles (70 kilometers ) from the Olympic Village.

To reach the Soldier Hollow Cross-Country Ski Resort trailhead from Salt Lake City, take I-80 East to Silver Creek Junction (exit 146). Go east on U.S. 40 past Jordanelle Reservoir toward Heber City. Take right turn on State Road 113 (100 South) to Midway. Take a left on 113 in Midway, and travel two miles. Turn right just before the railroad tracks and follow signs to Soldier Hollow. Located in Wasatch Mountain State Park, Soldier Hollow is about 53 miles from downtown Salt Lake City.

Overall, Soldier Hollow Nordic Center is the 5th most popular cross country ski area of all 19 Nordic ski destinations in Utah.
