Hatcher Pass Lodge Cross Country Skiing

The 2nd most popular XC Ski in Alaska.

North of Anchorage and Palmer in Independence Mine State Park, the Hatcher Pass Lodge in the Talkeetna Mountains has 20km of groomed trails open 7 months per year.

To reach the cross-country skiing trailhead from Anchorage, head north on SR1 to Palmer. Just past Palmer at Fishook Junction, turn left heading west on Fishook Road (aka Hatcher Pass Road) for 16 miles to Hatcher Pass.

Overall, Hatcher Pass Lodge is the 2nd most popular cross country ski area of all 10 Nordic ski destinations in Alaska.
