South of Tahoe City near Tahoma, the Sugar Pine Point State Park has 4 groomed cross country ski trails. The trails are color blazed and maps are posted along the way. The longer red and blue trails start from the campground.
Overall, Sugar Pine Point State Park is the 20th most popular cross country ski area of all 36 Nordic ski destinations in California. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Sugar Pine Point State Park including Royal Gorge XC, Kirkwood Cross Country Center, Northstar Cross Country Center, Nordic Center At Squaw Valley, Cabin Creek Cross Country Ski Area and Blackwood Canyon Sno-Park.
