Tomahawk Lake Ski Trail

The 32nd most popular cross country ski area in Wisconsin.

Northwest of Barnes, the Toma Hawk Lake Ski Trail has 10km of cross country skiing trails.

To reach the cross-country skiing trailhead from Barnes, follow Ellison Lake Road west for 0.5 miles. Turn north on Moore Road for 1.3 miles and park at Tomahawk Lake.

To reach the trailhead from Brule, head south on Hwy. 27 about 16 miles to Co.Hwy N (or from Hayward, north on Hwy. 27 about 25 miles). Take Co. N east about 2.5 miles to Barnes Road (just east of Town Hall). Take Barnes Road north 0.5 mile and turn left on Ellison Lake Road. Go 0.5 miles and turn right on South Moore Rd. Follow for 1.3 miles and turn left into parking area.

Overall, Tomahawk Lake Ski Trail is the 32nd most popular cross country ski area of all 37 Nordic ski destinations in Wisconsin.
