Hilltop Ski Trail System

The 4th most popular cross country ski area in Alaska.

East of Anchorage, the 5,000 acre Far North Bicentennial Park has over 15 miles of multi-use trails, including those created for cross-country skiing at the Hilltop Ski Area. There are 30km of groomed ski trails. Watch out for moose on these trails.

To reach the trailhead from SR1 (Seward Highway), exit at E. Dimond Blvd. Head east on E. Dimond Blvd. to Hartzell Road. Turn right heading south on Hartzell Road and veer left onto Abbott Road. Follow Abbott Road east to the Hilltop Ski Area parking lot (before the road turns sharply right). The trail system starts from the ski area and runs to the north.

Overall, Hilltop Ski Trail System is the 4th most popular cross country ski area of all 10 Nordic ski destinations in Alaska.
