Southeast of Crested Butte, the Brush Creek area is excellent for backcountry skiing with magnificent vistas of Teocalli peak. It also provides access to the lower section of the East River and Farris Creek.

Overall, Brush Creek is the 30th most popular cross country ski area of all 51 Nordic ski destinations in Colorado. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Brush Creek including Crested Butte Nordic Center, Elk Mountain Grand Traverse, Slate River / Oh-Be-Joyful, Cement Creek, Kebler Pass System and Lily Lake Nordic Trail System.
